One never called us back, one called back but didn't show up, and the other called, tried to upsell us on additional services, promising to do an "areal estimate" which they would email us. Tried and true was the 4th company we called.Phillip promptly showed up to measure and give us estimates for a new shingle or metal roof for our 1934 fieldstone home. We were handed swatches to pick colors, and were able to feel the quality of both type of materials in our fingers.We researched this company's experience, looked at pictures of their previous work, and confirmed their Better Business rating.We were taken by his professional, respectful manner, impressed by his honesty and signed the contract without getting bids from other companies.We are VERY impressed, and are looking forward to a beautiful new metal roof, for MUCH less than we were prepared to pay.Free estimate, and we do not pay until the job is complete to our satisfaction.I HIGHLY recommend these roofers.Jamie G. They were actually the 5th company I called over about a 4 month period, but the only ones who showed up. The weather early this year was terrible so I understand that every roofer in the area was busy, but Phillip made time for me anyway. He even sent someone over after hours on a Friday evening to tarp my roof since the leak got worse and storms were expected over the weekend. I appreciated that so much and it was a huge relief to not have to worry about further damage. They came back the next week to repair the water damage under my shingles and then installed a new metal roof. The whole process only took about 2 weeks, and the actual work only took a few hours. The price was very reasonable and the new roof looks great. If I'd known how easy and inexpensive it would be to get a durable metal roof I would have done this years ago! We used to have to replace shingles and several feet of ridge cap at least once every year due to severe storms, but now I'm so relieved to not have to worry about storm damage to my roof anymore. Thank you guys so much. read less

Philip Oliver and his hard working crew exceeded my expectations in all those categories. I have a 100 year old house and I wanted a new metal roof. I searched angies list and better business bureau thoroughly, read all reviews and decided to give Tried and True a call. He returned my call in minutes and came out the same day to inspect and measure my roof. He answered all my questions and gave me a quote on the spot. I have a pretty complicated roof with alot of cuts and angles and it's pretty steep. So I was surprised with the quote he gave me. He was very fair and reasonably priced. I knew instantly after speaking with him I was going to hire him to do the job. His crew was incredibly hard working and professional. It took a few days but they worked around alot of rain to get my roof finished. My house looks completely different now. It's beautiful. They made this 100 year old house look youthful again. They cleaned up and took a magnet all the way around to make sure I wouldn't get a flat tire (which I appreciate tremendously). I am completely happy with the quality of their work. Alot of people knew I was planning on a new roof this year and I tell all of them how happy I am and recommend them to everyone. Someone even drove by my house and stopped in the middle of the road to tell me how amazing my roof looked. If you're trying to decide on a roofer, give Phil a call. When I called about a roof repair after a wind storm messed up some of my roof shingles and torn them up or off, they knew when they could do the work. They showed up as promised and did the repair. I had tried several other companies and those people never showed up. They never called to tell me they were not coming. I even tried hiring a guy who doing a neighbors house and he forgot. Tried & True Roofing did a repair a few years ago for me. He came and repaired the work from someone else I had hired and botched up a section. I am very happy with Tried & True Roofing. When the whole roof needs to be replace, I will absolutely call them back! read less

We had a hale storm come thru and damaged our roof and vinyl siding on our house and also on my mom's house next door. They came in one day and replaced everything on both houses and did an awesome job. Definitely will use them again when needed and will recommend to all we know! read less

You could not ask for better people. If he says he is going to do it you don't have to worry he gets it done. I couldn't ask for a better company that cares about his work and also the ones he is working for. He will be doing more work for us in just a few weeks. So if you are looking for the best at a reasonable price, you have just found them! Phillip came out to give us an estimate, he told us that it wold be done right and he would make it pretty and he did. They were on time, professional and hard working. When they was done they cleaned up the work site and it looks like they were never here. When it came time to pay the price was exactly what was quoted to us. I recently had to replace my roof and would like to say that first and foremost, do your home work. I almost considered a "company" out of Elizabethton that wanted a great deal of money up front and very scetchy about a contract. This was not the case with Mr. Oliver. He was very professional, responded quickly, explained everything clearly, provided references and gladly provided a contract with warranty. Mr. Oliver's crew showed up on time and went right to work. I couldn't believe how fast they completed the job. I didn't time them, but I'd say they were done in about 3 hours, cleaned everything up nicely and ran a large magnet all around the house to pick up any stray screws, nails etc. I found 2 screws after they left...not bad. I was told by the gentlemen that delivered the metal that Mr. Oliver purchased more metal from their company than anyone else in the area. That says a lot. Bottom line...if you're looking for a quality roofer, competitive pricing and a roofer with one of the best work ethics iv'e seen in a long time, then give Tried and true a call. read less
